Mood: Happy Snapper
In 12 hours’ time, I will start 2013 full of hope and happiness, knowing that I have survived the worst year of my life in 2012.
For much of 2012, I took comfort and joy in playing along with the Photo A Day Challenge created by Fat Mum Slim (AKA Chantelle). The challenge provided a welcome distraction for me while Master S was in hospital for his lifesaving treatment (aggressive chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant) and it gave me something to look forward to every day. To say the challenge helped to keep me sane throughout 2012 is to understate the enormous amount of stress both J and I were under this entire awful year.
Thankfully, we can now put all that horridness behind us. Master S will never have any real memories of what he went through (for which we are eternally grateful), but he will have my photos to give him some idea of the tremendous fight he had on his hands, and the courage and strength and grace he showed throughout this battle.
The list for January 2013 (along with more details on the theme / prompts) has been published. I am going to do my utmost best to keep up with this challenge for 2013. I will have to sharpen my time management skills to ensure the photos get taken and published, what with me going back to work (part time) from mid-January, Master S going into daycare while I’m at work, and a bunch of other exciting things all due to happen over the next 12 months.
In 2013, I will be sharing my photos on Fat Mum Slim’s Facebook page, as well as the special Facebook group Chantelle has created. I will also share my photos on Twitter, as well as StreamZoo and EyeEm. Since the ginormous cock-up with an ill-timed and poorly-worded proposal to change their Terms & Conditions, I’m still unsure whether to continue using Instagram in the new year, which is a shame as I love, love, LOVE Instagram. (I think xkcd explained the Instagram debacle the best.)
It goes without saying that I will continue to share my photos here on my blog. Thank you for all your love, support and encouragement throughout 2012. Please keep coming back to see more of my photos in 2013!
Wishing you all a safe and happy new year. Here’s to an awesome and amazing 2013!
